While in LA last I paid a visit to the arts district, in the south east end of the downtown core. What was once industry central is sprucing up into hip central. The seemingly deserted streets are lined with old factories that have been converted into trendy lofts, cafés and boutiques. But don't expect to actually enter any of these places... their cool factor is maxed out by the fact that you need to know the secret password just to get in.
